Our Story
Rowan Glen is a yogurt producer located on the edge of the Galloway Forest in South-West Scotland. Our site in Palnure, Dumfries & Galloway has been producing yogurt for over 30 years, making it one of the longest established yogurt manufacturing sites in Scotland.

Our History
Our factory in Palnure is one of the longest established yogurt manufacturing sites in Scotland having been in operation since 1993. We take great pride in our history and always strive to be the best in all we do, building on a legacy of natural dairy goodness.

Koepon Dairy Products Ltd, a company of Dutch origin, set up Palnure Factory near Newton Stewart. - 2002
Rowan Glen acquired by Dale Farm Group – One of the most expansive dairy companies in the United Kingdom. - 2014
Rowan Glen redesign rolled out – Using tartan to underscore the brand’s Scottish flavour and heritage. - 2019
Rowan Glen launches a fresh new look lifting the lid on new logo, clean aesthetic and enhanced products. - 2022
Dale Farm announced a review of its operations in Sept – Leading to Palnure factory ceasing operations in October. - 2023

For those familiar with Scottish folklore, the significance of the the Rowan Glen name and the Rowan Tree will resonate. Revered for its ability to ward off evil spirits, the Rowan Tree has long been celebrated for its protective qualities. In times past, its branches adorned the entrances of dairies, symbolising not only abundance and quality in milk but also safeguarding the Dairymaids from harm.
